Nanjangud, officially known as Nanjanagudu, is a town in the Mysuru district of Karnataka, situated on the banks of the Kapila River. It is renowned for the ancient Srikanteshwara Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, often called the "Dakshina Kashi" or "Southern Kashi." This temple has a rich history with contributions from various dynasties over centuries. Nanjangud is also famous for a unique variety of banana called the Nanjangudu Rasabale, which has a Geographical Indication tag.
